Remaining Time to Nominate

Now that the slate of candidates has been posted, according to our by-laws, the nomination process remains open until October 27th. Nomination forms remain available on the table in the hallway outside of the parish hall.

Time to Meet the Candidates

This year there will not be a time for formal speeches with an open question and answer forum. Unfortunately, this format has prevented people from running for vestry in the past. Instead, most of the candidates will be available to meet and speak with you in person after the 10:15 service on November 3rd. You are also welcome to reach out to the candidates and ask them any questions. Their contact information is available in Realm.

Vestry Election Date and Time

The Vestry Election will be held at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall on November 10th. Please be on time as we will need everyone to check in, receive a ballot, and complete our voting process before the 10:15 service. If we are not able to elect a candidate during that time, the meeting will resume after the 10:15 service.

Absentee Ballots

If you are not able to make the vestry election on November 10th, absentee ballots will be available starting on October 28th. You must pick up your ballot and vote in person in the church office (Room 308). Voting by proxy is not permitted.

Qualifications to Vote

Voting members of St. John’s are communicants in good standing. This means they are members who are:

  • 16 years of age or older

  • Confirmed by a Bishop

  • Faithful in corporate worship

  • Financially supporting the Parish

  • Has received Holy Communion at least three times during the preceding year
