The singing choirs of St. John's will resume their regular rehearsals soon!  We have a choir for everybody from ages 4 to 84!  

The St. Nicholas Training Choir is open to all musically inclined children from PK3 - 2nd grade and rehearses in the choir room from 4:30 - 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, directed by Tracy Reed, starting on Wednesday, August 30th.  This choir sings in church about six times during the year.

The RSCM Treble Choir is open to 3rd graders through high school seniors and rehearses from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting on August 30th. This choir rehearses in the choir room from 5-6 p.m. starting Wednesday, August 30th. This choir follows the training principles of the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) Voice for Life curriculum and choristers learn about music theory, the history of music in the church, the Episcopal liturgy, and so much more!  Choristers can earn ribbons and medals for their demonstrated knowledge.  St. John's has produced many RSCM award-winning choristers. This choir is directed by Alan Reed.  If you were at church on Sunday, July 27th, you got to hear and see the RSCM choir of the Charlotte Summer Residency and experience their glorious musical offerings. This choir will sing every Sunday with the St. John's Choir.

The St. John's Choir rehearses on  Thursday nights from 6:30-8 p.m.  This choir is for SATB teens and adults.  This choir is open to all who love singing church music!  If you don't have formal musical training and love to sing, you are welcome to join!  If you do have formal musical training and love to sing, you are welcome to join!  This choir sings every Sunday, Christmas, Easter, and occasionally for funerals and other special services.  Alan Reed directs this choir.  The St. John's choir will kick off their year with a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. followed by rehearsal on Thursday, August 24th.
